Elective Description:
Your community based youth work placement will be with a group of 8 complementing local organisations in Mabare who work together supporting young people.
GAFV’s partner organisation focuses on mental health support, and It has been the success of their outreach work since 2016, aimed at driving down youth suicide rates, that has led to this collaboration, which includes a university, and hoapitals.
Your youth work placement will assist them in delivering support for families, youth, as well as giving a great deal of encouragement to the teams.
Your youth work placement could involve you in community building, school outreach work, youth suicide prevention, youth clubs, sports, supporting the counselling they provide, various support and well-being groups, and activities they have established in schools, universities, and their communities.
