Project Details

Our project partners (their story) are an established cooperative empowering women living with HIV, and supporting their children. Facing marginalization and stigma, the women are given opportunity and support to achieve financial independence owning their own businesses. Collaborating to sell handcrafted products is one initiative. The cooperative also runs a subsidised cooperative for their children.

Working with multi-agency partners (social workers, hospitals, psychologists) the cooperative plays a vital role in home support and medication regulation for its members.

  • An internship with the cooperative offers a unique opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways, tailored to your interests and the experience you seek to gain.

You may work alongside and support the cooperative’s managers, assist in developing marketing strategies and social media presence, contribute to website development, or engage in skills training initiatives. You can also immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations, gaining firsthand insight into both the challenges and rewards of running and delivering NGO services in Kenya.

Whatever role you take on, your time will be well spent—creating a lasting impact while gaining valuable experience that benefits both you and our partners.

  • You’ll stay at our partner’s dedicated hostel, be given 24/7 support, full board 7/7.

There are opportunities for tourism, travel, as well as staying on a nature conservancy alongside the local tribes people managing the land for the people and iconic wildlife of Kenya.
