Tanzania: the country, and our partners
Kenya stands out as an exceptional destination for volunteers, offering an extensive array of opportunities that can be joined on a tourist visa. This East African nation is not only renowned as one of the world's major tourist destinations, but also boasts a stable democracy, and the communities you work with (there are 47 tribes in Kenya) provide you with local knowledge, support, and the additional safety that comes with being guests of their communities.
GAFV works in partnership with a Kenyan government licenced community organisation, through which we offer and manage the most diverse range of projects of the countries that we work in, which they have been doing since 202.
Our wildlife conservation initiatives encompass everything from butterflies and turtles to supporting Maasai game rangers on the Maasai Mara and surrounds. Our projects include the development of bio and forest agriculture, and reforestation with the Luhya people in the remnant of East Africa's once vast equatorial forest, as well as replanting mangroves on the coats, and supporting a HIV+ women’s cooperative. Projects where we live with the Maasai, and coastal communities present unique immersive opportunities, whilst contributing to sustainable development.
Volunteers in Kenya connecting with local communities through staying with Kenyan families, whereby you can learn local languages, cook, and experience customs firsthand to foster cross-cultural understanding and personal growth. Kenya's stunning natural landscapes provide a picturesque backdrop to your volunteer work, making the experience impactful and unforgettable.
Beyond its remarkable project offerings and natural beauty, Kenya's cost of living is significantly lower than that of Western countries, making it an accessible destination for volunteers seeking to sightsee, and Kenya stands as a top choice for volunteers looking to make a positive difference in the world.
