Tanzania: the country, and our partners
Volunteering in Tanzania offers a unique blend of meaningful service and unforgettable adventure around the foothills of Kilimanjaro.
Based at our partners hostel below Africa’s highest peak, individuals and groups can contribute to teaching in schools, delivering sports coaching, supporting healthcare as a professional or healthcare student, and go on outreaches. We offer wildlife conservation, and women’s empowerment projects, thereby supporting local development, and gaining new skills, cultural insights, and a deeper understanding of global issues.
Our partner organisation has worked in the area to create and foster long-term benefits for the communities they touch. They have a good reputation for the impact they have achieved in strengthening lives and developing resilience in utilising, and adapting to change.
Volunteers can live and work alongside Tanzanian communities, learning Swahili, traditional customs, and local ways of life. This cultural exchange fosters mutual respect and global awareness.
In addition to service, Tanzania offers incredible tourism opportunities. Volunteers can explore world-renowned destinations such as Serengeti National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and the tropical beaches of Zanzibar. Safaris, hiking, snorkeling, and cultural tours are just a few of the adventures available during free time or after a volunteer placement.
Tanzania volunteering is a rewarding way to make a positive impact while experiencing one of Africa’s most beautiful and diverse countries. Whether for two weeks, or 3 months or more, on a gap year, or an elective, short-term or long-term, every volunteer's contribution matters and leaves a lasting legacy.
you're passionate about conservation, education, or healthcare, volunteering in Tanzania opens doors to personal growth and unforgettable memories.
